Ukrainian Couple Kill And Eat Neighbor

‘A Ukrainian couple have killed and eaten their neighbor who popped in for a drink, the Gazeta-po-Ukrainsky (Newspaper in Ukrainian) reports.

The accident took place in the town of Makeyevka. A 36-year old resident of the city and his 34-year-old girlfriend invited their 48-year old neighbor for a drink. After the party that lasted several hours the two men entered started argument that developed into a fight. Eventually, the couple killed their neighbor with a knife and a hammer.

At first, the killers wanted to get rid of the body, but the woman persuaded her partner to eat the meat, so they cut off the tender parts of the body and put them in the fridge. Then, they carried what was left of the cadaver out of their home and dumped it in a sewage well.’

It seems that Ukrainian newspapers have no qualms about publishing full colour pictures of mutilated/partially consumed corpses. And, neither do I. 🙂

Lawsuit filed in exploding keg case

`The “reckless” action of the party host precipitated the explosion that killed a 22-year-old New Milford man and injured several others last fall, according to a lawsuit filed in Danbury Superior Court.

The legal action, filed on behalf of Darren Snyder, a 36-year-old restaurant owner who was hurt in the blast, identifies Matt Johnson as the person who tossed an empty beer keg into the fire during a pig roast on his parent’s Aspetuck Ridge Road property in October.

After cooking for several hours, the stainless steel keg blew up, taking the life of another party guest, Sean Caselli.’

Congo rebels said to kill, eat gorillas

`Rebels in eastern Congo have killed and eaten two silverback mountain gorillas, conservationists said Wednesday, warning they fear more of the endangered animals may have been slaughtered in the lawless region.

Only about 700 mountain gorillas remain in the world, 380 of them spread across a range of volcanic mountains straddling the borders of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda in Central Africa.

One dismembered gorilla corpse was found Tuesday in a pit latrine in Congo’s Virunga National Park, a few hundred yards from a park patrol post that was abandoned because of rebel attacks, according to the London-based Africa Conservation Fund. Another was killed in the same area on Jan. 5, said the group, which based its report on conservationists in the field.’

Hondurans crushed by coffee sacks

`Six workers in Honduras were crushed to death by sacks of coffee beans unleashed when a wall in a warehouse gave way, rescue officials said.

The men were young seasonal workers at a coffee farm in Villanueva in the north of the Central American nation.

Officials said the wall collapse caused an overhead storeroom to come down, burying the men under around 10 tons of coffee beans.’

Toddler Dies After Head Crushed in Florida Car Wash

`An 18-month-old girl died after her head was crushed by an automatic car wash machine, police said.

Jaharra Brown slipped out of her aunt’s car while her mother and aunt vacuumed their cars Thursday. She wandered into the car wash, which was about 35 feet from the car, police said.

It was unclear whether the toddler fell down inside the car wash or was knocked down by machine parts, Police Chief Glenn Kimbrel said.

A boy inside a vehicle going through the car wash noticed Jaharra lying on the ground next to a car-carrying rail. The boy told his mother, who began screaming for help, The News Herald reported.’

Wii-contest radio station fires 10 staff

`A California radio station has fired 10 employees, including five on-air personalities, after Jennifer Strange, a mother of three, died following her participation in a “Hold Your Wee for a Wii” competition, reports the Sacramento Bee. The 28-year-old died of water intoxication, having consumed an estimated two gallons of water in an attempt to win a Nintendo console for her children. The winner of the contest was to be the person who managed to drink the most water without going to the bathroom.

Strange called into her office after the show and told a coworker that she had a “really bad” headache and would be going straight home. She was found dead in her Rancho Cordova home on Friday afternoon by her mother, who had gone to check on her after being contacted by the concerned coworker.’

New research says winning a Nobel Prize adds nearly 2 years to your lifespan

`New research by the University of Warwick reveals that a Nobel Prize brings more than just cash and kudos – it can also add nearly two years to your life.

The research by Professor Andrew Oswald, an economist at the University of Warwick, and Matthew Rablen, (a former Warwick postgraduate researcher now a government economist), is published this month in a study entitled “Mortality and Immortality”. [..]

Professor Oswald said: “Status seems to work a kind of health-giving magic. Once we do the statistical corrections, walking across that platform in Stockholm apparently adds about 2 years to a scientist’s life-span. How status does this, we just don’t know.”‘

Executed man’s ‘head just snapped off’

`A journalist who saw videotape of the Monday hangings of Saddam Hussein’s half-brother and the dictator’s former chief judge has described how one of the men was decapitated.

New York Times reporter John F. Burns told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Monday evening that Barzan Hassan’s head “just snapped off,” because he was apparently given too much rope and fell too far — about eight feet — for a man of his medium build and weight.

The hangman’s calculations — a grim science governing the weight of the condemned and how much rope is necessary to kill quickly — were apparently wrong, Burns said.’

Iraq is much less stable now than before we invaded, admits Bush

`The invasion of Iraq has greatly destabilised the country, President Bush admitted yesterday – but he still insisted that Iraqis should be grateful to America for starting the war.

As the White House scrambled to stem a flow of Republican defections over Mr Bush’s plan to send another 21,500 troops to Iraq, the President also admitted that the execution of Saddam Hussein had been mishandled, calling it discouraging.

In earlier private comments to news anchors he went much further, describing the ugly scenes during Saddam’s hanging as second only to the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal in terms of disastrous mistakes.’

WWII veteran found decapitated

`A World War II veteran has been found decapitated in the backyard of the northern NSW home where he lived alone for two decades, in a sickening and seemingly motiveless murder.

The severed head of 82-year-old Mark Hutchinson was found lying next to his body, said an ambulance spokesman in Armidale.

Relatives made the grisly find in the yard that backs onto a bike path and parkland when they called to see Mr Hutchinson yesterday, police said.’

Man electrocuted by DIY mole-killer

`A German pensioner who wired up a high-voltage cable to try to wipe out the moles digging up his garden killed himself instead.

Uwe Werner, police spokesman in Stralsund north of Berlin, said the 63-year-old retired construction foreman was found dead in the garden of his weekend house in Zingst next to a 380-volt cable and metal spikes rammed into the ground.

“The moles survived,” Mr Werner said, noting the voltage was enough to run a cement mixer or heavy-duty power saw. “It was in any event an unorthodox method to try to get rid of moles.”‘

Hit man to Pittsburgh professionals: Pay up or die

`Dentists, doctors, lawyers and other professionals in the Pittsburgh area have been targeted by a “hit man” e-mail scheme, receiving messages that tell them to pay up to spare their lives, the FBI said.

The e-mail, which was sent to most recipients around Christmas, tells the reader that there is a contract out on his life, generally for $50,000.

It says that if the recipient sends the “hit man” more money than that — generally ranging from $80,000 to $150,000 — the hit man will leave him alone.’

Terri Irwin destroys death tape

`All footage of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s death had been destroyed, his widow said, including her own copy.

Terri Irwin told American TV’s Access Hollywood, in an interview to be aired in the US this week, that the tape was destroyed when it was no longer needed for the investigation.

“There’s standard protocols for examining certain evidence and that’s no longer necessary, so we’re very proud that Steve’s last documentary is going to air and that’s his last footage with wildlife,” she said.’

Maurice Strong: Another Hidden Ruler

`Unfortunately, calling me alarmist or paranoid doesn’t address what I’m saying, it does nothing but calm your fears. The existence of a “global elite” is perfectly real, although the reader is of course welcome to deny it. And a great many of the men — and it’s all men, folks — who make up this global elite are on record, again and again, in no uncertain terms, stating that they would like to remove a large portion of the humans currently living on Earth.

To make matters worse, the technology to do this exists — in fact, there is an over-abundance of methods for mass murder at this point in human history. So here we have a very dangerous and disturbing nexus, a point where several threads overlap and intertwine. We have a small group of very powerful humans who have expressed the desire for “population reduction” and have the means to accomplish that goal within their possession.’

Gunships attack suspected al Qaeda fighters in Somalia

`Helicopter gunships attacked suspected al Qaeda fighters in the south Tuesday after U.S. forces staged airstrikes in the first offensive in the African country since 18 American soldiers were killed there in 1993, witnesses said.

Witnesses said 31 civilians, including two newlyweds, died in the assault by two helicopters near Afmadow, a town in an area of forested hills close to the Kenyan border 220 miles southwest of Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. The report could not be independently verified.

A Somali Defense Ministry official described the helicopters as American, but the local witnesses told The Associated Press they could not make out identification markings on the craft. Washington officials had no comment.’

Child, 2, Is Killed Riding On ATV

`A 2-year-old boy was killed in Charles County over the weekend when the child-size all-terrain vehicle he was operating overturned on him, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the boy was operating a Baja Wilderness 50 four-wheeler, which is designed for children 6 to 12 years old and equipped with a remote cutoff switch. When the boy’s mother turned the ATV off by the remote, the vehicle stopped but the front wheels turned, causing it to overturn on the boy, sheriff’s deputies said. He was wearing a helmet.’

It sucks that the kid died, but those ATV things can be pretty dangerous even for adults, let alone two year old.

Man arrested for dismembering sister sliced off her breasts

‘A man under arrest for dismembering the body of his sister sliced off her hair and breasts in an apparent attempt to hide his victim’s gender, said police.

Yuki Muto, 21, from Tokyo’s Shibuya-ku, told officers that he disposed of the breasts by putting them in the garbage disposal in his kitchen sink.

Muto is under arrest for slicing the body of his 20-year-old sister Azumi into more than 10 separate parts, mostly at the joints. He put the other body parts into four plastic bags and hid them in his room.’

The Hurricane Hoax

`Most people who know about the Hurricane Carter case only know the Hollywood version presented in the movie starring Denzel Washington. The Hurricane, released in 1999, features crooked, lying, racist cops and frightened witnesses who won’t come forward. Carter himself is brash but noble, persecuted his whole life by one obsessed detective who keeps sending him to jail.

The real Rubin Carter and the real Lafayette Grill murder case are nothing like the movie. This movie bills itself as being about hope and redemption. The movie, in terms of Carter and the actual murders at the Lafayette Grill, is a fraud from beginning to end, full of errors, distortions and fictions, large and small. [..]

”Rubin used to tell me time and time again, ‘You’ve met Rubin and you know Carter, but you’ve never met the Hurricane. The Hurricane’s bad. The Hurricane’s mean.'”‘

This is quite long, but interesting. Turns out this guy is some sorta sociopath and it’s very probable that he is infact guilty.

Life on Mars? We may have found it – and killed it

`We may have already encountered Martian life about 30 years ago and accidentally killed it, according to a new analysis of NASA’s Viking mission to Mars presented Sunday at a major astronomy conference in Seattle. [..]

Schulze-Makuch and Houtkooper suggest that the hydrogen peroxide detected by Viking could have come from killing Martian microbes that, like some peculiar creatures on Earth, use hydrogen peroxide the same way humans use water.

The Mars landers did all their chemical analyses by mixing samples with water — a step that would have prompted a powerful chemical reaction in any microbe full of hydrogen peroxide, killing it and releasing the peroxide.’
