`A sheriff’s deputy who was trying to get a man down from a tree shot and wounded him after mistakenly pulling a gun instead of a Taser, authorities say. [..]
The man had been climbed a fig tree and stayed there for hours, talking to himself. Deputies were unsure whether he was intoxicated or psychotic, and they wanted to get him down before he hurt himself or others, Wilson said. [..]
Blakeslee said the man climbed down on his own after getting shot.
“He said, `Ow, that hurt. I’m coming down, I’m coming down,'” Blakeslee said.’
`McCann then allegedly charged the officer, who sprayed him in the face with an irritant. Two officers tried unsuccessfully to handcuff him as McCann wildly swung his fists, the report says.
The incident further escalated, with McCann continuing to allegedly attack officers after he was repeatedly kicked and struck with a baton, according to the report. Officers also used a Taser to attempt to subdue him.
“He continued to attack with super human strength and made no attempt to escape,” according to the report.
McCann was finally brought under control when two responding officers struck him three times with a Taser gun and another hit him four more times with a baton, according to the report.’
`The Ottawa Police Firearms Task Force yesterday swooped down on a Navan Rd. homeowner suspected of having a cache of illegal weapons, shot him and his dog with a Taser and left without finding any weapons.

`Denver prosecutors have charged a worker in an after-school program at Horace Mann Middle School with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly Tasing a student.
Shaun Ellis, 24, had worked at the school since September but was dismissed after the Jan. 11 incident, according to Denver Public Schools officials.
Ellis is accused of using a Taser stun gun three times on a 13- year-old boy who had been accused of tripping a girl in a hallway, said Lynn Kimbrough of the Denver District Attorney’s Office.’
`Police should not use Taser stun guns to subdue small children, a Miami-Dade grand jury said Thursday.
But it did not propose an outright ban on using stun guns to subdue all minors because some larger children could threaten police regardless of age.

`A normally pleasant billy goat turned gruff and, for his troubles, was zapped three times with a Taser gun. Dodge the billy goat snapped a leash and charged at Dawn Pinette, knocking her to the ground Wednesday about 35 miles west of Charleston.
“All I could do was grab his horns and scream bloody murder,” Pinette, 38, said.
Her daughter called police and Colleton County Deputy Jeff Scott arrived to try to help Pinette up. But the goat bullied his way in and the deputy used his Taser.
At first, Pinette thought the goat was dead.
“Within a few seconds he was back up and going after him again,” she said.’

Crawford County deputies said a Taser gun was used on Daniel Hinners and he was arrested Tuesday night.
The deputies were responding to a domestic abuse call at Hinners’ home when he started chasing them on a large farm tractor.’

`Deputies were called to the Holiday Inn on Fort Myers Beach Saturday night after several people reported spotting a naked man cavorting around the building.
Two women said Jeremy Miljour, 26, of Bonita Springs, approached them asking them to “touch him.” [..]
Despite the 50,000 volt shock to the sensitive area, deputies say Miljour continued to attack them. So they sent another 50,000 volts through the probe.

`Cumberland County deputies said a man wanted on kidnapping and robbery charges burst into flames Wednesday after gasoline splattered on him and a deputy used a Taser to try to apprehend him.
Deputies said Corporal Bradley Dean pulled over Richard McKinnon for a broken taillight in the Lake Upchurch area of Cumberland County.
McKinnon sped off, drove over a mailbox and hit a tree, deputies said.
He had gasoline in the front seat of his vehicle, and the gasoline splattered on him, they said.’

Fate Patterson, 39, of West Memphis, was arrested after he ran past a police car and failed to stop when he was ordered to do so by officers. Police chased him and were able to rein him in by using a Taser.’
